8th MIRFIELD CUBS/SCOUTS: One of the biggest in the region, providing varied agendas for 5 to 14s. They allow them to learn valuable life skills, make friends, enjoy activities they would not normally be able to do, and have fun.

MIRFIELD MUSIC & LANGUAGE ACADEMY: Providing fun, relevant, lessons for all age groups. They offer personalised tuition in piano, guitar, singing and brass as well as Spanish, German and French to all ages and abilities.

MIRFIELD AGRICULTURAL SHOW: An annual family day out that regularly attracts over 10,000 visitors to the town. It is run by volunteers as a non-profit community event with all proceeds going to run current and future shows.

NOISY NEIGHBOURS NYE 2019: Their very first event at St Pauls Church on New Year’s Eve sold out immediately. Organised by local young bands, the crowd partied to Ska House, Distortion, Tom & James Band and more.

SARAHS WISH FOR KIRKWOOD: A special family fun day that has raised thousands of pounds in memory of a mum-of-three who died in Kirkwood Hospice. Its’ events have included live music, funfair, bar, stalls, and fun dog show.

BOOTS THE CHEMIST: Adam and his team go out of their way to help the community. They support their customers, showing a real interest; help charities; host collection points; and drop medicines off to elderly and house-bound.

DAMON’S BARBERS: The shop has become a community hub where men can go to talk as well as get their hair cut. Damon also goes out of his way to go into the community to do haircuts for care homes and those who can’t get out.

MIRFIELD CO-OP: The team regularly host charities in store; do fundraising of their own; work with Mirfield in Bloom; allow community events in their car park; and support local schools and organisations.

MIRFIELD FIREFIGHTERS: A team of ‘on call’ retained firefighters who give their own time willingly to raise funds for charity with bonfire night pie and peas, car washes, their Santa’s Grotto, and supporting local events.

LET JUNE MAKE A DIFFERENCE: Seven volunteers who provide financial support to children in North Kirklees to cover everything from school trips, educational items, counselling sessions and musical instruments – who might not otherwise be able to participate in educational. So far awarding over £70,000 to over 300 people.

THE WHOLE AUTISM FAMILY: Born to offer help and guidance to families who are impacted by autism. They didn’t want other families to be in the same position as themselves, as they know it impacts the whole family.

MIRFIELD IN BLOOM: Is not just about flowers. It involves the whole town. Groups pull together and neighbours become friends.  The town looks lovely; winning awards and discouraging litter, vandalism and graffiti.

MIRFIELD RESCUE SERVICE: A team of volunteers dedicated to helping the people of Mirfield in all extreme weathers that nobody else should be out in. Offering lifts to work; rescuing stranded cars; and providing weather updates.
